Configuring DICOM in Sonova (version 3.51 / 3.52 only) *

Be sure you have first configured your network settings in Windows.  If you are unsure how to do that, click here for step-by-step instructions.

HIPAA Compliancy

From the initial menu in Sonova, click on Utilities, then System Setup. If you have purchased the DICOM option and have your dongle installed correctly, you will see a DICOM Configuration screen just like the one you see here.

If you need Sonova v3.52, click here.

Below is a description of each configuration setting.

File Storage: When the user selects file storage “SCP Server”, they need to provide additional configuration settings for Sonova AE to communicate with a remote DICOM SCP.

DICOM SCP Configuration: These radio buttons determine whether DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is used to configure the network IP address, or a user specified IP address is used.

DNS Name: Used to configure the remote computer name for the system that Sonova AE will be sending DICOM images to.

IP Address: Used to configure the network IP address for the system that Sonova AE will be sending DICOM images to.

Port: This field is used to configure the port number that the remote DICOM Store SCP application will be listening to for messages from Sonova AE.  The factory default is “104".

SCP AE Title: Used to configure the Application Entity title for the remote DICOM Store SCP application that Sonova AE will be sending images to.

Sonova AE Title: Used to configure the Application Entity title used by Sonova when requesting services from an SCP.

Invert Images (Negative): Converts the outbound DICOM image to a negative (X-Ray type) image.

DICOM Conformance Statement: Displays the Parks DICOM conformance statement.  You can also review the DICOM Conformance Statement here (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).  The DICOM Conformance Statement will answer most questions you may have about Sonova's implementation of the DICOM protocol.

Test Configuration: Clicking this button will ping the specified DICOM server and will report either "SUCCESS" or "FAILURE", depending on the result.

* DICOM is an added option that must be purchased separately from your local Sales Rep.  To contact your Sales Rep, please call 1-888-503-1177.
